Welcome to the inspirational art of Louis Provenzano

Welcome family, friends, and business associates to the inspirational art of Louis Provenzano. I have endeavored to create and post the best of my original drawings and paintings. I like to model my style after the Old Masters of the Italian Renaissance. I welcome your comments and suggestions for ways that I can continue to share my love of art and my devotion to God and his glorious Son Jesus Christ.

May the Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always,

Your friend and fellow believer,

Deacon Louis Provenzano<><

A Tribute To The Brave Firefighters of 9/11

We can never forget the sacrifices of the brave firefighters that died in the 9/11 attack on the twin towers of the world trade center. My tribute to these brave men and women  is this drawing. The unfinished area of the painting represents the tragedy of 9/11 while the painted area represents the spirit of a nation to rebuild and remember our national heroes.

The Adoration of the Maji

The Adoration of the Maji represents for me the importance of always giving thanks to the Lord for the gifts we have been given. It inspires me to maximize my talent as I bring my gifts to the Lord.

The Elevation of the Cross

I was inspired to paint this painting of the Elevation of the Cross because this moment in history illustrated for me what our final minutes of life will be like. Like Christ we will be attended by many people that will have a hand in, or simply be witness to our death that we may never have known. This painting is rich in many areas of symbolism that offer great insight into the death of Christ. The dog at the foot of Jesus, the roman soldiers, the friends of Jesus, the laborers all have their place at the death of Jesus.

May you be inspired by this moving moment in time.

The Women at the Tomb

This painting of the Women at the Tomb to me represents the sorrow, compassion and care given Mary the mother of Christ and the women that have come to attend the Body of Christ. I painted the face of Mary almost white. This symbolizes to me that Mary’s life was being drained from her as she is witness to her son’s death. I chose the last possible moment before the glorious resurrection to further emphasize this tragic moment in the life and death of Christ.

St. John The Baptist

This painting of St. John The Baptist illustrates for me the devotion and faith of one man to his faith. Despite persecution, isolation, and feelings of self-doubt St. John stay’s true to his call. He is a great inspiration of faith to me. The lamb is symbolic of Jesus Christ while the cool gentle flow of water in the desert reminds us that Jesus Christ is with us even when we thirst the most.
